Learn the skills you need to live independently or progress to employment or volunteering in our new FLEX Department.
Our FLEX Department is for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or High Needs between the 14 - 24 years old.
You can choose from one of our four, project-led, pathways depending on your personal aims and ambitions; Independent Living, Horizons, Pre-internships or Supported Internships with each pathway intended to help you towards one of two key goals – adulthood and independence or employment. We’ll also help you with your English, maths and ICT skills.
We work closely with the other Colleges in our Group to provide access to as many experiences as possible, including theatre and drama productions at Rotherham College and experience in Animal Care, Horticulture and use of the forest school at Dearne Valley College, so whichever one of our Colleges you’re based at you’ll have the opportunity to meet people from other areas and enjoy new experiences.
We have strong partnerships with local businesses and organisations and work with them to get involved in community projects. You’ll have the chance to showcase your skills in competitions such as Sewhat and inter-college competitions.
You’ll also have the chance to take part in a wide-range of health and wellbeing activities, from fitness classes to music and art therapy sessions, we’re also looking to start a disability sports league.
