Computing and Digital

There is huge demand for IT specialists, both in the fast growing creative and digital industries and in manufacturing, retail and the public sector in the East Midlands.

As a Computing and Digital student, you will study a range of areas such as web and app development, animation, computer architecture and programming, digital graphics, IT repair, network management and cyber security, among others.

You will learn from tutors who have industry experience in computer networking, software engineering and game development, and develop a strong understanding of the impact of IT and computing on business, and its future as an industry, gaining wider transferable skills sought after by employers including problem-solving, applied creativity and research.

Our Computing and Digital courses are taught within specialist computer studios, offering industry-standard technology, equipment and software, including Microsoft and Adobe Creative Suite, Maya, Construct 2, and Game Maker Studio.

You will learn in up-to-date dedicated facilities with a range of specialised equipment including HTC Vive, 3D printer, Class Set of Raspberry PIs, Private Network for network management, PCs for strip and rebuilds and more.

You will also have opportunities for work placements in local IT businesses to give you a taste of what it would be like to be part of one of the region’s biggest industry success stories.
